The UEE – Electrotechnology Training Package (Release 5.0) is now out on training.gov.au! The Electrotechnology Industry Reference Committee headed the latest UEE training package updates, which include changes in computer systems engineering and renewables.
To help you understand the UEE training package updates better, we provide an overview of the changes made in this article.
What are the UEE Training Package Updates in UEE 5.0?
Computer Systems Engineering
The Electrotechnology Industry Reference Committee recommended updating one existing qualification in computer systems engineering. The committee also identified two qualifications no longer aligned with the current industry standards and pathway and proposed their deletion. This was done to ensure that the qualifications offered meet the contemporary skills necessary for the industry.

- removed training products that are no longer aligned with the current industry standards and requirements for meeting the contemporary skill needs
What Do RTOs Need to Do?
To aid in the implementation of the UEE Training Package updates, a Companion Volume Implementation Guide (CVIG) has been created. This guide will assist RTOs, assessors, trainers, and enterprises. This UEE training package CVIG includes:
- a comprehensive list of all products in the training package
- information on the changes made to the materials
- implications of regulations and licensing
- links to additional resources
With the current UEE Training Package updates, RTOs need to keep the following guidelines in mind:
- update all resources to the latest versions
- add any new training products to your scope of registration
- ensure all students finish their course before the transition deadlines
- transfer ongoing students to the updated training product
- remain compliant with all regulations
For the deleted UEE training package products, it is important to note that students must complete their courses within 1 year for units and skill sets and 2 years for qualifications. Affected training products will remain on your scope until the end of the transition period unless withdrawn beforehand.
