- Aside from the ongoing negotiations to finalise the 12-month National Skills Agreement for 2023 and a longer-term National Skills Agreement, the government also prioritised establishing the Jobs and Skills Australia and Industry Clusters and consulting the VET quality and qualification reforms.

What this means for your RTO
Since the Australian Industry and Skills Committee has approved a big list of training packages, you should identify the packages your RTO offers to determine what needs updating. Looking into these early on will give you a head start to when redeveloping your program and give you ample time to consult with main industry experts in Australia. Being able to plan ahead and prepare for the necessary updates can greatly give your RTO a head start among other competitors and boost your enrolment rates.
Here are some things you can do:
- Update your learning materials to align with the new standards or invest in the best training resources to ensure timely and high-quality materials
- Redesign your training and assessment strategy to meet the demands of main industries in Australia
- Make sure your RTO is delivering updated courses by checking the scope of registration. ASQA automatically adds the new update to your scope if it’s equivalent to your current program; if not, you’ll have to apply to add the updated courses to your scope.
- Review your training programs via your session plan to easily spot discrepancies and look for opportunities for improvement. TVTR provides session plan templates your RTO can use to outline training requirements so you can instantly know what course needs updating and improvement.
